Great Advice!

I have the most wonderful clients, they moved here from East Coast to Minneapolis.  When I met them their home was full of boxes and plenty of memories!  As we started unpacking and starting to purge,  I could tell it was very emotional as we started giving away items and throwing away "junk".  It really wasn't junk to them.  They were sharing wonderful stories!
Then my client said to me, someone once told me about going through items, "does it bring you joy, do you use it, and can it be replaced."  This was such great advice and it made our purging and memory sharing so much fun!  We have got through many boxes but much more to go.  Then it is the organizing of where all needs to be placed!  So fun and I love helping them get organized, plus now I have two new wonderful friends!

Relocation

Tomorrow, I am helping a couple who moved into the city and are overwhelmed with boxes and boxes to be unpacked and organized!  Right up my alley!  HMMMM do they live on an alley?  ahah  I am hopeful to take some stress out of their move to help them get all settled in.  I am so blessed for the opportunity.  I am sure we will make some major headway this weekend!  Once Get it done, gets in there, I am hopeful I can continue on with them to make their transition into Minnesota smooth and wonderful.

Just the right Client

Sometimes in business, we work on trying to secure clients, but there are times when it just isn't the right fit and that is OK.  I had a meeting with a potential client and I think through my intuition I knew it wasn't the right fit.  I, however, sent a proposal went through the process of follow up to see if the client would be interested in hiring, Get it done, but at the end of the day, the client wanted to go a different route.  I am learning through this process that it is definitely ok when that happens.  It does really have to be the right fit for both parties. This client wanted less and I offer much more.  I always know when one door closes, many more opportunities will open!  What a great learning experience!

Thermostat

Yes, it is that time of year when we want to save money because our heating bills are outrageous!  So, I had my brother put in the automatic thermostat.  Now mind you, I could have done it as he walked me through the process, however, he is the engineer and it was nice to hang out for a bit. But as he left me with figuring out how to program it, I was completely worthless!  So what did I do, read the directions, try to follow the step by step instructions, THEN, I saw it the phone number for customer service!  DONE, I made the 800 call to Honeywell.  They walked me through my week, Monday through Friday, Saturday and Sunday, all specifically tailored to my schedule.  NOW my house temp is just perfect!

Hostess

Today was a grand day as a Lifestyle Manager for my client at a major bank downtown.  My client needed me to get the caterer, and make sure all her meeting attendants were set with breakfast, lunch and afternoon snack.  I wanted to make sure she didn't have to think about or worry about any of this "small" stuff.  I wanted her to just know that it would "get done".
It was a successful day and the meeting went off without a hitch!  Another satisfied client!

What are you worth?

I asked my client, "how much do you think you are worth an hour, he was a bit taken back by the question, like it was none of my business?  I wasn't asking how much he made per hour, I asked, what "he thought" he was worth.  He could say whatever he wanted!  He asked why I wanted to know?  I simply said, let's just say you are worth, $250 per hour, and for 4 hours that he works, his time is $1000, so if he were to hire someone for those 4 hours to relieve him of work he should not being doing, what is it worth to him?
Food for thought?

Basement Fun

The best time to work in someone's basement is when it is -2 degrees outside!  I get total satisfaction helping my client organize, clean, paint and just make her basement a place she feels so much better about "heading" down to.  Yes, it is an old cement basement, with low ceilings.   We have made a great start with about 6 loads to ARC and 3 big garbage days!  I love this stuff!  It is a work in progress.  The next step is to put items into bins.  Then we will paint!  Oh the fun  of it all!

Business Meeting

Today, meeting with my client to help her with a business meeting downtown.  I am helping to get the menus for all the attendants for breakfast, lunch and snack.  Full day of meetings and I will help host!  Sounds like a wonderful opportunity to meet new people and spread the word, "get it done".   I have taken the challenge to help her learn how to "delegate"!  My client will be amazing and is learning how to let go of items, she should not have to do because she needs to do what she does best!

Contract Talks

I am working on a contract for my first client, this is a challenge, but very exciting and "a moment".  In life we are lucky to see and embrace moments in our lives!  My SCORE mentor has graciously accepted my invitation for coffee to help me through some ideas to make sure this contract is complete!
SCORE is an amazing non-profit program, which is set up to work with new small business owners or entrepreneurs.  You are assigned 2 mentors, who are retired business executives who will support you during the process.  They volunteer their time to support you! If you know of anyone or need this kind of business support, this is a great program for you!

A new client

After meeting with Lisa and Carl, I now have another new client.  We will meet and go over specifics of our contract together as I "get it done" for them.  After meeting we determined I will be able to help them in building their business and personal items they may need.  I will be available for them 20 hours a month.  We will connect every week to determine their needs for that week. I am so excited to be able to bring them my skills to offer them more quality time to work as they build their business!
